I am a former student of Elder Stewart's Word of God Discipleship Class. I'm not sure why I signed up originally but I know that it has definitely changed the course of my life. I went in thinking I was someone and some where that I clearly wasn't, which I feel should be revealed once you really get into the Word of God. I began to see myself through God's eyes which at the time was not pretty. I was a fearful-fly, worry-wart, and an angry-ant! Elder Stewart's teaching techniques and straight-forward personality pushed me to become a better person and out of the box that I had built around myself. Today I am a licensed minister and full-time musical evangelist and I owe a very huge chunk of my growth to my time spent learning with Elder Stewart. Yep, I learned with her because there were times that she was the student and I was the teacher. That stirred up a gift in me that I wasn't aware I possessed. There were other gifts that she pulled on too but it was all for my good! I could go on and on because there is so much that I recall from those classes. One very important lesson that will always stick with me is that the Word is just a group of letters and sentences if I don't apply it to my life. Interpretation without application yields abortion. The Word comes alive when I speak it and do it. I'm still learning to let the Word do the work by working the Word. The Word will work for us when we make a decision not just to memorize it but apply it to our lives. Roni J. I LOVE the lesson for this week. It was my first time visiting the site and I tell you, it blessed me. I buried my gift because of fear. However, I will no longer allow it to conquer me. Look for greatness from my life, not that I be be glorified, but God will get all the Glory. I praise God for you and I am so proud of you. This is just a fragment of the blessings that is to come your way. Yuwanna-Fayetteville I was a young woman struggling with an identity crisis. I always felt ill equipped and unprepared. Elder Stewart seen pass the obvious pain and hurt I was dealing with. She seen something in me I couldn’t see in myself. From day one she pushed for everyone to go farther in learning and researching various topics that were given. She brought each individual out testing and questioning lessons that had been taught. The open forum that we were taught in made several individuals including myself overcome several insecurities of speaking and being transparent in front of others. I thank God for Elder Stewart’s ministry. It was a vital stepping stone in my walk with God. I know who I am in God and I am grateful for Elder Stewart seeing and pulling out that Mighty woman of God that was hidden. Tanisha Riley The class gave me the opportunity to learn different ways to study the bible and to find the right bible method for me. It allowed me to see how I could take any scripture and apply it to my everday life. With meditating on different scriptures it allowed for me to see what God was saying to me. Different studies that were studied gave me a chance to peel back the layers and really get to the root of some things. Each time that I took the class I found out about something new that I was dealing with. It was an AWESOME SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE! Thanks Toni! Debbie Wisher, North Carolina My experience in the class taught by Elder Stewart was truly enlightening filled with emotions and challenges. The emotions felt because of the sincerity, love and commitment exhibited in her lessons, and challenges in having to dig deep within myself of which I still need to do and applying all that was given. To dissect and meditate on the chosen lessons using visualization and personalizing them were sometime mind boggling but it got me out of my comfort zone I had gotten so use to. To take a class given by Elder Stewart and comfort zone don’t even go hand in hand. Interaction from the class as a whole always flowed with input was helpful to all involved, including my husband which whom I was given the full opportunity and advantage of studying and sharing our finding with each other.
